finished!

I hope everyone had a nice Valentine!

here in Austria, V is more like a flowershop-business. I was looking forward to a kid1-free-weekend, kissed HB and kid1 good-bye and off they were to Grannies. Sat down and nursed kid2 - suddenly the doorbell rings: nursing kid2 I opened: and in front of me stood kid1 with flowers: "Happy Valentine to you mummy!"

Oh jesus, how sweet was this! Reminded me very much of heathers programm. I will add this immediatly.

I used the single-kid-weekend for a shoppingtrip to one certain kind of toy/basket/whatever-shop. There I got my very own Valentine gift:

I added some red colour and voilá: the lovliest tree for meeeeee!
I think about dusing this as a screenprint motif for a t-shirt - but what colours - any ideas?

This will not be the final place, but I like the colour-scheme...

I was knitting during the whole days, and so I finished two things:

1. the Elizabeth-Zimmermann-Heart Hat!
I was really surprised that I managed to do the I-cord thing. As I had really troubles with the heart pattern...

I really like the red/teal/white combination and could not stand to add the little felt hearts...I am really satisfied with this hat - and so I reminded myself of doing better pics - ok a little better:

and some still lifes

Unfortunatley the poor kid has nothing matching to wear...maybe a sweater, or maybe I will add a kimono like one you find at martha stewart, using the alexander henry fabric?

2. Elisa´s nest tote, pattern here

some disappointing details - all to my own fault:
I ran out of the yellow yarn, but I was eager to finish, so its a small one.

I didn´t calculate some yarn for closing the seams - so white seams

I didn´t use my brain, when I read: bind of loosely - I binded off loosely, but it should match the cast-on-edge...so I had to take in a lot while doing the attached I-cord.
Which does not improve the I-cord finish...

But I just wanted to finish, and soothed myself with the main use for this bag: groceries!

But I liked the pattern and will do a next one as a gift - using a yarn from the stash: a leftover from the christening dress I did for kid1, it was also in use with kid2.

Pattern: Debbie Bliss Special Knits
Yarn: bargain bought cotton
Needles: US#1
I added clear beads on lower part and an organdy petticoat
Unfortunatley I cannot add my pics directly from my flickr-account, can anyone help me to fix this?
